Savage quips

Do you like to walk down  country lanes
When thoughtless folk harass  and strain
Equanimity sweet,
Trampled under their feet....
Not just once but again and again.

Words allowed out of their lips
Sentences of savage quips.
St Sebastien knew
What arrows could do...
From narcissists on ego based trips

The philosophy of cyborgs

The ill fated Oscar Pistorius with his bionic legs

http://www.cyborgdb.org/sharpe.htm

This is really intriguing about cyborgs though I admit openly that I know almost nothing about the subject. But I can see the thical implications of augmenting ourselves with extra parts including technology is a terrifying subject to brood about

A psalm I like

Psalm 121

 1. I  willl   lift  up   mine   eyes  unto   the   hills, from   whence   cometh   my  help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Palm Suday poem

Fat from the madding rowdy crowds
with you I long to be.
Away from noise and music loud
My soul desires to pray.

As palms were waved  and smiles blazed free
Jesus came to town.
Yet soon a different sight they'd see...
And hear the deathly groans.

From joy to woe we humans pass
From one hour to  the next.
For sins and troubles do harass...
And our dear hearts are vexed...

Yet we are told that in the end
Love will outdo death..
And so we beg for grace to lend
To us the strength to last.

Wild wallflowers

This Sunday morning was so beautiful .There was very little traffic and from the bus I could see wild wallflowers in the cracks of the ancient vicarage wall waving in the light April breeze.I saw the vicarage, part of it Elizabethan. The Easter cards were hard to get but I found some eventually then had coffee and watched people amble by.I feel many have gone away for an Easter holiday and I enjoyed the quietness reminding me of how Sunday used to be.
I got some more money from the cash machine and amble lingeringly around the orchids and roses on sale. Some dark roses attracted me but I could not carry then with the other things including a book about Word 2010.I never knew that one could get macro-viruses in documents.Security seems hard to maintain.
I bought a long navy t shirt with self coloured embroidery around the neck before wandering t  the bus stop.I saw the wild wall flowers were still waving as I looked out peacefully on my journey home.
Tomorrow I shall be doing office maintenance... getting things in order.

Writing

Writing is good for the soul.
Writing well makes me feel whole.
The structure and form
Soothe us and calm
When life extracts too big a toll
